Legal Profession Act 2006
The Act is the principal instrument by which the legal profession is regulated. It is a law amounting to well over 600 pages when the regulations are included. Practitioners and members of the public wishing to check out the Act should also check the regulations and the Professional Conduct Rules to get the complete picture. The Act is administered by the Law Society in consultation with, and in some cases with the approval of, the Attorney-General.
